Pipe bending stress, deflection, and vibration

The pipe supports the shaft, so it will also experience the centrifugal force from the rotor imbalance. This fatigue bending stress is highest at the lowest part (root) of the pipe. A big mild steep pipe with 27mm diameter, 2.5mm thick, and 400mm long is used, so the calculated fatigue bending stress is small and so is the deflection. The pipe is very stiff with very high frequency. In the vibration calculation, the frame was assumed to be a fixed support while the pipe as a cantilever supporting the rotor mass.
